Reasons Not To Put Your Picture Online

Elvis

Here’s a site showing you why not to put your picture up on the internet. I remember seeing this guy photoshopped way back in the day. His expression still makes me chuckle.

Giant Things

Giant Factory

These Naoya Hatakeyama photos of a lime factory are incredibly striking — they look like something out of Quake or Star Wars, huge, inmpossibly baroque and gorgeous.

Now this is just amazing. With this one photo you can look into every visible window. Talk about one large picture…

City Scape

The photos are being taken with a 4 gigapixel camera and have enough resolution to see inside a hotel room window 3km away.

Mario

Players are building huge replicas of classic game characters out of painted in-game wooden crates.

… and something small of something giant:

Jello City

Elizabeth Hickock has created a gigantic jello sculpture of the city of San Francisco, including the Bay Bridge.

Blur Building

Blur Building

The football-field sized pavilion was made of filtered lake water shot as a fine mist through 13,000 fog nozzles creating an artificial cloud. A built-in weather station controled fog output in response to shifting climatic conditions.

The structure hovered 75’ above the water’s surface on four columns. After a 400’ long walkway, visitors entered a foggy mist. Upstairs at the Angel Bar that pierced through the cloud layer to the open sky, they would be served a sampling of various spring, artesian, mineral, sparkling, and other bottled waters from around the world.

Check out the Flickr Camera Tossing Photo Pool. They toss digital cameras into the air with the shutter open to generate cool streaky time exposures of city lights at night. It’s not something I’m going to risk with my camera anytime soon.
