Can Humans Mentally Slow Time?

Time
The Clock is Ticking!!! by Mr. Greenjeans

A fascinating read on how scientists were able to prove humans ‘see’ the world slow down when in a terrifying situation. Also looks at how our body clock system was discovered and a rare condition: permenant jet lag syndrome.

Explorers Discover Huge Cave and New Poison Frogs

Huge Cave

A cave so huge helicopters can fly into it has just been discovered deep in the hills of a South American jungle paradise.

It was found in the slopes of Aprada tepui in southern Venezuela, one of the most inaccessible and unexplored regions of the world. The area, known as the Venezuelan Guayana, is one of the most biologically rich, geologically ancient and unspoiled parts of the world.

As a bonus, researchers also discovered a new dendrobatid frog species, Colostethus breweri, named for the frog’s identifier, Charles Brewer-Carías. Dendrobatid frogs make up the group of amphibians commonly known as “poison dart” frogs.

New Stuff!

Top Gun Mini

Top Gun Mini

I don’t know if this can even be classified as a toy, but I want one. The plane looks like it moves so fast, if you blink, it will be gone over the horizon. I also have no idea how the operator can land the thing back on the ground without an explosion.

The US military should be taking notes, their unmanned drones don’t look nearly as cool… and they also lack the classic Kenny Loggins — Danger Zone playing in the background. That music really brings me back to the days of Maverick, Iceman and Goose.

Tornado vs. Rainbow

Tornado & Rainbow

I bet the tornado won.

The scene might have been considered serene if it weren’t for the tornado. Last June in Kansas, storm chaser Eric Nguyen photographed this budding twister in a different light — the light of a rainbow. Pictured above, a white tornado cloud descends from a dark storm cloud. The Sun, peeking through a clear patch of sky to the left, illuminates some buildings in the foreground. Sunlight reflects off raindrops to form a rainbow. By coincidence, the tornado appears to end right over the rainbow. Streaks in the image are hail being swept about by the high swirling winds.
