  • Awwwwwww, I love the picture with the horse drinking salt water. How sad was it that the poor horse had to ride out the storm. Good to see from the picture that he is okay, I hope!

  • Thanks for the pictures. Such a sorrow.

  • I wondered where all the trash went in picture 1. Got my answer in picture 3. What a mess.

  • To Cella the first person who commented. You are an Idiot I am sorry but look at the devastation that these people are going to have to rebuild from. People died and lost their homes, businesses, livlihoods, vehicles, boats and worldly possesions and you are saying ohh poor horse who SURVIVED is having to drink that water. GET REAL. What are you like 12.

  • cortney what are you like 12

  • Yes poor horse! Drinking salt water isn’t good for horses anymore than it is for humans. He survived the storm, but he may not survive the aftermath if no one gets him fresh water and some food. His feet will be a mess from standing in water so long. Yes people lost alot but at least they have a *choice* in where they live and whether they evacuate. That poor horse was left behind by an IDIOT to die. I have no sorrow for people like that and they deserve whatever comes to them. I have 4 horses and would evac every one of them if it came to that. I’ll be damned if I am leaving them behind, alone to fend for themselves and suffer and die.

  • thank you deanna I would ride my horses out before I left them to die. They are dependant on you for their care and survival. Where there is a will there is a way.

  • I am from Texas — I survived the storm (I stayed)and took care of my 4 cats and 5 dogs. I am not an idiot because I chose not to evacuate, I am also not an idiot because I choose to live where I live. Devastation happens everywhere from some sort of nature disaster. You can’t live anywhere that you are free from something happening. You don’t know the circumstances of the situation of the people who are dealing with the aftermath of this storm. I am on a computer at my job because it is one of the only places I can do anything because I don’t have lights at my house. I haven’t been able to see the horrible pictures until now. If you haven’t dealt with what these people here in Texas, Louisiana, Florida or any other place that experience hurricanes then if I were you I would keep my comments to myself because you can have some misfortune in your life as well and then I’ll bet you won’t appreciate someone making light of that.

  • it looks like a doll house just siting inthe middle of no where that is a sad day

  • All of you bickering about a DAMN horse!

  • I decided to stay and ride out Hurricane Ike; I am definitely not stupid for doing so. My home was fortunate to have no damage apart from the satellite dish was pulled of the chimney and a few extra branches in the front yard, I never lost power. People do have a choice of where they live. But not all can afford it, people live where they can. People with large animals e.g. large dogs, horse etc have to leave them. There are no hotels that would accept them in the rooms. People who are unfortunate to not have their own means of transport have to use the public buses. Animals are not allowed on these buses. I feel sorry for all the people and animals that lose their lives during any natural disaster. There is no where in the world that is free from it; Floods in Britain, droughts and famines in Africa, wild fires in California and Hurricanes in gulf and east coast of the US, Monsoons in India and Typhoons in Asia. The world is full of bad news and events; we should learn to rejoice about the good things even if they are small. What happened to the little happy stories? The survival stories?

  • Im with Mel… i live in Florida and it’s BEAUTIFUL! the only flaw is the hurricanes and the STUPID TOURISTS that go CRAZY over the slighest little rain shower… “Oh My gad, it’s a hurricane! Run for your lives!!! God is testing us!!!!!!!” I HATE THEM!!!!!!!!!! I also don’t like the people from lke northern states who are all bratty and say “oh, it’s just a little rain, deal with it… we have bilzzards here all the time which sometimes hurt people…” Just a LITTLE rain? Ya right.. that ‘little rain’ kills people.… Ok? so u kno what? enjoy ur crappppy snomen and hot chocolate while we are still trying to help the people in those photos.…. HOW DARE U THINK ITS JUST A LITTLE RAIN WHEN NONE OF U HAD TO DEAL WITH ANDREW, HUH? ALL U SAW OF IT WAS PICTURES ON THE NEWS.… EVEN THEN YOU ONLY SAID “oh, too bad for the poor Floridians” WE HAD TO REBUILD AND START OUR LIVES OVER… GDI!

  • the first pic is photo shop, the horse died, and the third pic is real. arguing on the internet is like running a race in the special olympics, even if you win your still retarded!

  • OMFG people shut the flip up its a horse.mel ur totaly right about staying i woudnt want to leave my home either. the people that have nt been through one of these things shut up u dnt know wat its like im 13 and iv been through a hurricane and it will kill ur family. how would u feel if ur family was destroyed?

i love photo blogs, there is a saying that a picture speaks a thousand words and this saying is also true for blogs that mostly displays photos.
