Turn and face the strain
Pretty soon now youre gonna get a little older
Time may change me
But I can trace time

I’ve updated the blog to the most recent versions of both WordPress and K2. Tell me what you think and see if you can find all the cool new features.

New Stuff!

Check out the new rotating header, live archives page and contact page. There are also a few more little additions that you’ll have to find yourself.

Love vs. Hate

Love vs. Hate

While not exactly a robust scientific conclusion, according to this statistic, the human race does in fact consist of more lovers then haters.

It appears that love has trumped hate in the blogosphere with an approximately 3-fold higher volume of posts over the entire period. While the proportion of weblog posts that include these terms has been relatively stable, there has been a decrease in the use of both terms over the past month.

WordPress Blog Search

Feedster

This is kind of neat. A Feedster search which is specifically tailored to only search WordPress blogs. Doesn’t work that well yet, still beta. I tried “sean buckley” and it only returned one result from the wordpress.com account.

WordPress Plugin: Five Options

I’ve tried out a few of these WordPress plugins and they seem to be working really well. Backup your database, include Amazon links in your posts, add a Google sitemap, they all serve useful functions.

WordPress Plugin: Akismet

Aksimet

Now, I know my blog isn’t exactly a hot bed of feverish discussion, but I still get massiive amount of spam comments every day. Maybe Akismet will be able to actually “Stop Comment Spam and Trackback Spam”. I believe it is made by the same guys behind WordPress, so it’s probably pretty good.

WordPress Plugin: FAlbum

FALbum “allows you to display your Flickr photos and photosets on your site.”

I might need this for my flickr photos.

Sean’s Blog

Wordpress Logo

I found one of the magic golden tickets and now I’m testing out the new WordPress.com serivce. It’s kind of neat to be using the service before the public gets acces to it. Check out the new blog. Between Blogger, WordPress.com and WordPress.org I have too many blogs and no real content. It’s still a learning experience though. Guess I just like choice.

Adding Ads

Google Adsense

So, I’ve started putting Google Adsense Ads on the blog and within the RSS feed. We’ll see how it works out. I’ve already found that it really tends to clutter things up, but the whole site design will eventually be overhauled anyway (hopefuly soon) so that isn’t a big deal at the moment. Also, I’m back in school which means that posts are likely to be fairly sparse for a while. If anyone actually reads this, let me know what you think. Cheers.

Another CSS Tutorial

Here’s another “create a webpage with CSS” tutorial. Looks like this one goes all the way through the process. It could be a good read. See:
